Senate approves concealed carry

• The Wisconsin Senate approved concealed carry legislation June 14. The bill would allow concealed weapons in public places, but not in police stations and courthouses. It was approved by a 25 – 8 vote, with all 19 Republicans and six Democrats supporting the bill. It was scheduled to go the Assembly later in this week

• Pat Gureski, who has served as Egg Harbor Village Clerk/Treasurer since 1987, announced that she will retire at the end of the year.

• The Door County Triathlon sprint distance filled June 10. The half-iron distance filled in April. Two thousand competitors will hit the water and roads at Horseshoe Bay Beach for the event scheduled for July 16 and 17.
