September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Library cards are free at Door County Library, and a library card opens a world of possibilities through resources and services that give students the tools to succeed in school and as lifelong learners.

“Our library programs serve students of all ages,” said Beth Lokken, youth services librarian. “For younger children, we offer early literacy resources to help them learn to read and encourage school readiness, and for teens and older students, we provide access to technology and digital tools and educational opportunities …”

This year, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 characters Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep and friends are going on an adventure as honorary chairs of Library Card Sign-Up Month to promote the value of a library card and draw attention to the many ways in which libraries transform lives and communities.

The library will host sign-up-month events, including an author meet-and-greet with Judy DuCharme, story time and STEAM programs for kids, instruction on using a library card to download ebooks, and more.To learn more and see an event schedule, visit DoorCountyLibrary.org.
