Sevastopol Music & Drama Department Updates Sound Equipment

Sevastopol School’s music and drama department is updating its sound equipment thanks to generous donations from community organizations and businesses, grants from the Raibrook Foundation and the Ruth & Hartley Barker Memorial Fund of the Door County Community Foundation, and contributions from Sevastopol’s Parent-Teacher Organization, the Sevastopol Music and Theatre Guild, and Jandu Petroleum Pride Pumps. Middle and high school students also delivered meals for an evening at the Sturgeon Bay Culver’s, which donated a portion of the sales.

The music and drama department is purchasing new wireless headset microphones, wireless handheld microphones, power-distribution systems and other equipment to better produce musical and theatrical performances, which take place in the school’s elementary gymnasium-auditorium.

Sevastopol will present Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical this spring, when 19 elementary, middle and high school students will take the stage and benefit from the new equipment. The Sevastopol music and drama department continues to raise money for the next phase of the sound-system update in 2020-21. Jimmy Johns of Sturgeon Bay will host a fundraiser Feb. 19, 11 am – 9 pm, donating $1 for every sandwich sold.
