Sevastopol News and Notes

• The Town of Sevastopol opened its new town hall to residents and visitors April 14 at the annual town meeting. Town supervisors noted the ample wall space inside the hall and said the town wanted artwork from local artists to display. The meeting room fills the center of the building, with office, storage and additional meeting space toward the outside of the structure. The large room is available for rent. The construction of the new town hall is scheduled for completion in mid-May.

• Sevastopol residents with access to cable TV will soon see more localized programming. Town supervisors decided to cancel the contract the town had with Soik Communications of Sturgeon Bay, a savings of $75 per month. Within the new town hall, a room is set aside for broadcasting local programming and the town plans to hire someone to coordinate programming.

• A contest to paint a mural in the new town hall in Sevastopol is underway. Anyone with an idea for a mural that depicts the town is welcome to submit their drawing to the town office.
