Sevastopol Schools Help Local Organizations for Earth Day

Sevastopol students, Rilee Sternard and Randi Karls display weeds being dug up at Crossroads in celebration of Earth Day.

On April 25, Sevastopol Middle and High School students celebrated Earth Day by assisting local organizations with spring clean up. Students were divided into groups and transported to locations such as Whitefish Dunes State Park, Ridges Sanctuary, Sevastopol School’s Ecological Reserve, Crossroads At Big Creek, Potawatomi Park, Sugar Creek, Sevastopol Town Park, and the Sevastopol School Amphitheatre and Nature Trails.

High school principal Adam Baier shared how proud he was that Sevastopol School was able to participate in such worthwhile community service projects because of the support of staff members and the work ethic of the students.

Community organizations interested in hosting Sevastopol School students for Earth Day projects next year may contact the school.
