Sevastopol Schools Hire New Principal

The Sevastopol School Board last week approved the hiring of Kathy Hoppe as its new elementary school principal and director of special education. Hoppe had been serving as director of instruction and assistant superintendent in the Waterford, Wis., school district. Before that she served the Howard-Suamico School District for 24 years as special education teacher, sixth grade teacher, instructional teaching coach, elementary principal and director of elementary teaching and learning. Hoppe replaces Mary Donaldson, who resigned in April after being placed on paid administrative leave in February. “We are pleased to have Mrs. Hoppe joining our administrative team at Sevastopol,” wrote Sevastopol School Board President Sue Todey in a press release about the hire. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of education that will help our students continue on their journey to becoming college and career ready as well as responsible community citizens.”
