Seven Bands, One Stage, One Night

On Saturday night, July 26, Door County music lovers will have a unique opportunity to see seven bands, including five local bands and two more with local connections, performing in one location.

The Olde Opera House at 23 West Oak Street on Sturgeon Bay’s west side will host the event that begins at 9 pm and will continue until closing.

The bands include Chump Service, hip hop; Victims of the American Dream (VAD), heavy metal; Ascending the Void, hard rock; Sheol Dynasty, hip hop; and Darcade, heavy metal – all based in and made up of musicians from Sturgeon Bay. Joining the local bands as special guests are The Brotherhood, hip hop, from Oconto Falls, and Bo1Katt the Imposter, from Appleton. Both the guest bands have ties to the Sturgeon Bay area and all of the bands play exclusively original music.

The event is presented by TwoFace Media, a consortium of Sturgeon Bay musicians that have joined together to schedule bookings, develop recordings, and generally promote their bands. Saturday’s event will be the biggest event TwoFace Media has scheduled to date and they are excited to showcase the variety of music and talent they represent.

“My drummer and I both have birthdays in July, separated by about two weeks,” explains one of TwoFace Media’s spokesmen, Scott Keller, “and each year we try to work in a performance to celebrate. This year we decided to really do something big with our close friends at the Olde Opera House.”

Keller, who is better known in the music world as Jester Exodus, has been friends with Mike Hall for many years. And with Hall continuing to explore ways to expand the use of the built-in stage and large dance floor in the Opera House, the opportunity to showcase an array of bands with an almost music festival atmosphere was an ideal opportunity.

“I know most of the bands and many of the musicians,” Hall says. “Most of these bands have large, loyal followings, so we are anticipating an exciting night of music.”

Hall doesn’t believe in cover charges so the admission is free, though attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

“We will have a variety of drink specials during the event and are excited to show music lovers what the Olde Opera House can offer,” Hall stated.
