Shanty Days Hosts Beach Volleyball Tournament Aug. 11

The fifth annual Battle on the Beach volleyball tournament returns to Shanty Days in Algoma Aug. 11.

Teams will compete for a first-place cash prize of $500 in the tournament on Crescent Beach. Team fee is $90 through Aug. 3 and includes six t-shirts and six Shanty Days wristbands that get you entry to the Shanty Days grounds. Fee increases to $120 after Aug. 3.

Each team is guaranteed at least seven matches consisting of two games per match in the pool play round robin-style tournament. Teams can have up to 10 players with a minimum of four and maximum of six on the court at any time. All players must be 18 or older, and each team must have two women on the court at all times.
