Shared Rides Resume

The County of Door’s Transportation Department has announced the return of shared rides through the Door County Connect public-transit service beginning April 1. The shared-ride public-transit system had decreased rider capacity in the bus and limited the taxis to one household group at a time during transport since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases in Door County and increased demand, we made the decision to remove the shared-ride limitation,” said Pam Busch, the county’s transportation manager.

Prior to COVID-19, the services provided more than 47,000 trips per year. 

Masks will be required for drivers and riders for both services through at least April 18.
