Shenandoah Show Canceled, Door County Talks Coming To DCA

Joanne Shenandoah, who was scheduled for a Nov. 27 appearance at Door Community Auditorium (DCA), passed away on Nov. 22, 2021.
Those who planned to attend her concert may be interested in DCA’s 2022 Winter Door County Talks series, focused around the theme of First Nations of Our Region.
The free, four-talk series – presented in partnership with UW-Green Bay’s First Nations Program and the Door County Civility Project – will take place Saturdays at 10 am.
William “Naąwącekǧize” Quackenbush will present the first program, “Ho-Chunk History: Past, Present & Future,” on Jan. 22. On Feb. 12, learn about the Oneidas of Wisconsin from Margaret Rose Ellis, Yotsi’nahkwa’talihahte; and Mirac Ellis, Shako’tsyuntha. Abtegishgok “Holly” Daniels and Ndokmankwet “Marcus” Daniels will present “Potawatomi Nation through Time” on Feb. 19, and the final presentation, “Ancient Roots: Connecting Our Shared Histories,” is scheduled for March 5, with Waqnahwew Benjamin Grignon and Pitaepanuhkiw Lucy Grignon of the Menominee Nation as the presenters.
