Sheriff’s Office Investigates Social Media Threats Against Protestors

The Door County Sheriff’s Office released a statement to say it is investigating a threatening video posted to Twitter on July 4 by an anonymous user using the name Naf Pmurt (which is “Trump Fan” spelled backward) and the handle @deepstateh8r. The account has been deleted.

“The Door County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the recently posted social media video concerning the protests in Sister Bay,” the statement said. “We are investigating this matter. We do not believe that anyone is in danger at this time. Thank you to all of those who have contacted us for caring about our community.”

In the post, the user posted a video of a small group of demonstrators in Sister Bay and made shooting hand gestures at each person holding a sign. The user had previously made posts encouraging people to run over Black Lives Matter protesters.
