Northeast Wisconsin Shipping Canals Will Remain Open This Winter

The Sturgeon Bay Police Dept. warns that the Coast Guard is maintaining shipping channels this winter with icebreaking operations from Rock Island Passage to the Fox River. The tracks through the ice will extend to Escanaba, Marinette-Menominee, Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. Before icebreaking, a 72-hour advance notice will be given. Outdoor enthusiasts are reminded to be aware of the icebreaking operations on the bay of Green Bay.
