Description
Explore Door County through the photography of Len Villano and Lucas and Heather Hale Frykman.
For 20 years Villano has been everywhere on the peninsula, capturing iconic images of people, events, and most often, Door County’s captivating natural environment.

Villano’s images tell a story of their own, of a peninsula bursting with color, vibrant personalities, music, struggle, and beauty. A great Christmas gift for lovers of Door County photography, this collection of images puts you in the moments as they were photographed – warming toes beside an Ephraim Fyr Bal bonfire, clearing eyes on an early autumn sunrise, rocking out to the beat of a Steel Bridge Songfest performance.
An artist, musician, recording engineer and producer, Villano left a promising career in architecture years ago to devote his life to capturing the beauty of nature on film. Finding the extraordinary in the ordinary is now the focus of Len’s work.
The amazing photography of the husband and wife team of Lucas and Heather have been capturing Door County photos since opening their first gallery in Ellison Bay in 2005 (which they later moved to Sister Bay).

Their high-gloss Door County photo book features 114 pages of photos showcasing the unique eye and style of the Frykman’s – a bluebird in flight, aurora borealis, the stars encircling Eagle Tower, towering ice shoves on the Door County shore.
The images are culled from the couple’s contributions to Door County Living magazine, and provide a coffee table reminder of the natural wonder of the peninsula found off the highways, outside the villages, and in the places where few people are present. The Frykmans take you there.
