Door County Environmental Council will present a public overview of the New Shoreland Zoning Ordinances May 31 at 7 pm at the Sister Bay Fire Station. Door County Planning Department Director, Mariah Goode, will explain the progression of how the local control over shoreline has been lost to State control with Act 170 and Act 55. She will also discuss developing changes being handed down from the State. Goode will also discuss how this affects shore property owners, the public, the environment and what this means for local control over zoning. Bring questions and note pads for this educational walk through the intricacies of our Shoreland Zoning ordinances and how important it is for local voices to reach the State level on these local issues.
