Short Story Writing Workshop

Write On, Door County will present a special one-day writing workshop in the craft of the short story with visiting novelist and short story writer Kathie Giorgio on March 14, 1-4 pm, at the Paul J. Bertschinger Center in Egg Harbor. Tuition for the three-hour workshop is $65. To register, visit writeondoorcounty.org or call 920.868.1457.

The class will begin with an overview of the elements that make a great short story. Participants will then discuss their own short stories. Please bring one of your stories of no more than 2,500 words to the workshop for discussion and critique. If you don’t have a story but have been thinking about writing one, come anyway.

Kathie Giorgio’s fourth book, Rise From the River, will be published in April, 2015. Her previous works include the novels The Home for Wayward Clocks and Learning to Tell (A Life)Time and the short story collection Enlarged Hearts, selected as a 2012 Summer Must-Read by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She is a writer-in-residence at Write On, Door County.
