Shortages Force Public Health to Cancel Vaccinations

Door County is not alone in this situation. Also last week, the state reported having four times more requests for vaccine than it had doses to dispense. Not knowing how long this trend will continue, Public Health officials said they have no choice at this time but to cancel all appointments scheduled through the Door County Public Health clinics until they know the amount of vaccine the department will receive week to week.

“This is not news any of us had hoped for,” said Joe Krebsbach, Door County Health and Human Services director. “We recognize this situation creates great challenges, frustration and disappointment. We will continue to work together with our community partners to

plan and prepare for the time vaccine becomes more widely available to our county. We ask for your continued patience and understanding.”
