Sievers Marks 40 Years in Fiber Arts

Starting May 28, Sievers School of Fiber Arts will mark its 40th year of teaching classes in weaving, knitting, spinning, quilting, basketry, surface design, beadwork, book and paper arts, dyeing, wearables and more.

Sievers welcomes all levels of adult students to spend uninterrupted time learning from knowledgeable and encouraging instructors, in a tranquil setting, through 41 classes offered from May through October. During its first 40 years, Sievers has welcomed 178 instructors, offered 2,384 classes and registered 18,386 students.

The Sievers Shop, housed in a schoolhouse built in 1890, is open to the public daily, 10 am – 5 pm. It features original fiber arts and fine crafts handmade by Sievers students and teachers.
