Mac Schueppert, Sturgeon Bay artist, was recently awarded Signature Membership in the Pastel Society of America, the oldest pastel society in the United States.
Of the 75 artists who submitted an application, she was one of eight who received Signature status. The juried process took place in New York City and was conducted by Pastel Society Board members.
Initially a water colorist, Schueppert developed her love of the medium of soft pastel after taking a class with Lynn Gilchrist through the Artists Guild. She has studied at the Peninsula School of Art with artists such as Emmett Johns, Bonnie Paruch, Colette Odya Smith and Bonita Budysz.
