Silent Auction, Community Mosaic Unveiling

The Hardy Gallery’s annual Collection Invitational and Collector’s Choice Benefit opens July 19, 5:30-7 pm. The exhibit features two works by each invited artist, one of which has been donated to the gallery’s silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting the Hardy Gallery’s operation and programming funds. In return, the artist displays a second piece in the gallery that will be marked for sale at the artist’s request. This exhibit is the Hardy’s largest annual fundraising event of the season and features 51 Door County artists.

The silent-auction artwork will remain on view through Aug. 25 at 3 pm. Bidders can make bids directly in the gallery, by calling 920.854.5535 or by emailing [email protected].

Also on July 19, the Hardy Gallery will unveil its annual Community Mosaic Project, 5:30-7 pm. Earlier this year, community members were invited to paint square canvases, which will be displayed together in a tapestry of art that makes up the iconic mosaic wall. The canvases are available for purchase at $30 each at the gallery or by phone, mail or email. They are sold as “blind buys”: Purchasers do not know which canvas from the mosaic wall they will receive until the canvases arrive in the mail in mid-September. The Community Mosaic Project will remain on view until Aug. 25 at 3 pm.
