Silent Sports Alliance Sponsors Bridge to Bridge Fun Run/Walk

Door County Silent Sports Alliance (DCSSA), in conjunction with the City of Sturgeon Bay, is sponsoring a 3K Bridge to Bridge Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, September 21 at noon. The noncompetitive fun run/walk will be led by Sturgeon Bay Mayor Tom Voegele and will be the first event of a daylong celebration for the opening of the new Maple – Oregon Street Bridge.

The run will commence at the new bridge and continue on to the historic Steel Bridge, allowing pedestrians to be the first to cross the new bridge. The course will wind past the Maritime Museum and then finish at the new Maple – Oregon Street Bridge, where participants will receive commemorative canvas bags. The Fun Run/Walk is free to all participants and will be followed by an afternoon of celebration including the bridge dedication, live music, food and tours of the bridge’s tender house.

Door County Silent Sports Alliance, a non-profit group dedicated to promoting silent sports such as running, cycling, skiing and paddling, is proud to be the host of the Bridge to Bridge Fun Run/Walk. Thanks to partnerships with Baylake Bank, Thrivent Financial and the City of Sturgeon Bay, DCSSA hopes to bring the community together in celebration of the opening of the new Maple-Oregon Street Bridge. Music will be provided by DJ Andy Larson, of Isthmus Entertainment of Madison. (www.isthmusentertainment.com)
