Sister Bay Begins Comprehensive Plan Update, Seeks Survey Input

The Village of Sister Bay is seeking public input as it begins updating its comprehensive land use plan. The village Plan Commission is asking Sister Bay residents, visitors, businesses and stakeholders to complete an online survey at arcg.is/0y0HnW0 to begin the process. The survey is open until Oct. 10.

The state requires municipalities to update their comprehensive plan every 20 years. Plans must consider land use; issues and opportunities; transportation; agriculture, natural and cultural resources; housing and population; economic development; utilities and community facilities; intergovernmental cooperation; and how they’ll implement their plan.

In preparation, the village has begun separate plans for facilities and housing and invested $3.275 million in broadband.

The village is also preparing its Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. The Ad Hoc Recreation and Transportation Plan Committee; Parks, Property & Streets Committee; and the Plan Commission begin meeting jointly to complete that plan later this month. That plan is expected to be completed in Summer 2024.

BayLake Regional Planning Commission is assisting the village with these plans.
