Sister Bay Bowl Adds Outdoor Seating

Few restaurants have faced as big of a challenge during the COVID pandemic as the Sister Bay Bowl, the generational mainstay known to serve as many as 800 fish-fry lovers on a Friday night in addition to a full bowling alley.

Just before Independence Day weekend, the restaurant’s owners added a new outdoor seating area in an unused space by the front door, with room for diners to space out and enjoy drinks while they wait for a table.

“We’ve wanted to do something with this space for a long time,” manager Paula Anschutz said. “This situation gave us the push, and the opportunity, to try something.”

The lights, plants and streetlife spruce up one of northern Door County’s most visible intersections.
