Sister Bay Farm Market Features Woodcarving Demonstration

The final Farm Market hosted by the Sister Bay Historical Society will take place October 8 at their Corner of the Past Museum grounds. Woodcarver Gary Dooly will present the Heritage Demonstration in the Koessl Barn as part of the morning’s activities.

Dooly has been carving birds for over 40 years, 20 of them working as a full-time professional. His highly detailed, life-sized works have won him a number of competitions and awards. He was commissioned to produce a full-scale American eagle, the iconic Anheuser-Busch logo for the St. Louis brewing firm. Since retiring to Sister Bay several years ago he has turned his talents to creating Noah’s Arks and architectural models.

Fall vegetables, along with a variety of food products ranging from bakery to preserves produced in area certified kitchens will be available from 8 am to noon, or while supplies last. Dooly’s carving demonstrations will begin at 9 am.

Market hours are from 8 am – noon, rain or shine. The Corner of the Past is located on Highway 57 at the intersection with Fieldcrest and Country Lane, 1.5 miles south of downtown Sister Bay.
