The 68th annual Sister Bay Fall Fest is October 18, 19 and 20 throughout the Village of Sister Bay, sponsored by the Sister Bay Advancement Association.

This “granddaddy” of all Door County festivals boasts the biggest parade of the year on the peninsula Saturday morning at 11 am, a three-day juried arts and crafts festival, mouth-pleasing food and beverages, activities for kids of all ages, and live music throughout town.

The grand finale of the weekend is on Sunday at 2 pm with the Ping Pong Ball Drop, where more than 10,000 ping pong balls labeled with discounts and prizes from area businesses are launched into the crowd of thousands.

Sister Bay Advancement Association has devised a new method for the Ping Pong Ball Drop and Fall Festers will have access to free Wi-Fi throughout the festival grounds.

New activities this year include a movie screening and fundraiser for Door County Short Film Fest, the Miss Cinderella Scholarship Pageant, Pumpkin Bowling, and a Sloppy Joe Eating Contest.

The festival will also introduce the required use of wristbands for those 21 and older to purchase alcohol. Wristband stations will be set up at the corner of Mill Road and Highway 42 on Friday from 12 – 7 pm, Saturday (as well as the corner of Maple Drive and Highway 42) from 8 am – 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am – 2 pm.

This year’s Parade Marshall will be the 2013 Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Volunteer of the Year – the winner of which will be announced during the parade. The Gibraltar School District Marching Band, Green Bay Preble High School Marching Band, and the Milwaukee Scottish Pipe Band will all provide rhythm and beats for the parade floats and participants. All Door County individuals, businesses and groups are invited to enter a float into the parade or dress up in costume and entertain the crowd. Line-up is on Maple Drive/County ZZ past the Sister Bay Bowl, and begins at 10 am.

The Sister Bay Lions Club will host a Door County Fish Boil Friday night at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station and the Northern Door Kiwanis will flip as many pancakes as you can eat Saturday morning in the Village Hall.
