Sister Bay, Liberty Grove Host Shredding, Recycling, Drug Drop-off Day

The Liberty Grove Town Board and the Sister Bay Village Board will host a shredding, appliance-recycling and prescription-drug drop-off day Sept. 12, 9 am – 1 pm, at the Liberty Grove Town Hall, 11161 Old Stage Road. All residents, business owners or operators, and property owners in the Village of Sister Bay and Town of Liberty Grove are encouraged to participate.

There will be no charge to have documents securely shredded, but there will be a limit of five bankers’ boxes of materials to be shredded per household or business. There will also be no charge to recycle most computer components and small household appliances

Possible fees include $5 to recycle printers, copiers and fax machines; $15 to recycle units with Freon; and $40-$50 to recycle monitors that are larger than 15 inches, as well as console or big-screen TVs. Any recycling fees must be paid before large items will be placed on the truck. 

Representatives of the Door County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to accept and safely dispose of unused or outdated prescription and over-the-counter medications, pills and capsules.

Because of the overwhelming response in the past, people from other municipalities will not be allowed to participate.If you have questions about the shredding or appliance recycling, call the Village Administration Office at 920.854.4118 or the Town Hall staff at 920.854.2934.
