Sister Bay Library Hosts Travelogue Series July 11-25

The Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Library is hosting a travelogue series, “Falling off the Edge of the Earth” with Nate Jacobs.

Jacobs is originally from northern Door County and a Gibraltar High School graduate. He is now the director and an ESL teacher at Lexica Centre of European Languages in St. Petersburg, Russia. He’s been there for seven years and during the summers he returns to Door County and is a cook at Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor in Ephraim.

Jacobs has traveled and lived abroad throughout most of his adult life. He’s gone to many additional places beyond what is in this series, but the July presentations are limited to some of these more unusual travel spots.

The programs will be presented as follows:

• July 11 – Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan & Afghanistan)

• July 18 – Former Soviet Union

• July 25 – Off the Beaten Path (North Korea, Chernobyl, Abkhazia & Transnistria)

The public is invited to the Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Library for the programs. They start at 7 pm.
