Waterfront park

Grass has been planted where Helm’s Four Seasons once stood, but further work on the Sister Bay Waterfront park will likely wait until 2009. Village Administrator Bob Kufrin said the short-term goal of clearing the building, minimal landscaping and making the area safe for pedestrians has been achieved, and the next steps, including extending the swimming pier in order to expand the beach, will require approval from the Department of Natural Resources.

“JJR consultants is working on getting the DNR the information they need to work on permits, but it’s not a fast process,” Kufrin said. He doesn’t expect to hear back from the DNR until the end of the year.
