Sister Bay Scanning Historic Photos

Northern Door residents have another month to take part in Stage I of a groundbreaking historic research project currently underway by the Sister Bay Historical Society.

Photos and documents relating to local families, activities, buildings and businesses are being scanned into the society’s new archival inventory by a team of volunteers available until May 23.

“We’ve had a steady stream of people coming in for the past few months and have been able to add greatly to our records,” Society President Fred Johnson noted. “Items don’t have to be ‘antique’ to be included. We’ll welcome anything from before 1980 that illustrates daily life in Sister Bay.”

Scanning is done each Wednesday from 10 am until Noon at the library in Sister Bay. Items can be contributed to the Historical Society or returned to owners.

The society plans to continue with Stage II during the summer at the Corner of the Past historical site on an appointment basis.
