Residents and visitors in Sister Bay may notice a boom in construction projects taking place in the village until Columbus Day. Village board president Dave Lienau said the village lifted a moratorium on construction taking place during the fall, hoping the extra time will allow developers to finish their projects by May 2019. “They’ve been halted temporarily through the summer so we didn’t have big equipment downtown causing problems and noise,” Lienau said. Construction on the 40-unit hotel near the corner of Bay Shore Drive and Mill Road, a four-unit hotel condominium at Sunset Drive, and a boutique hotel on Mill Road will all continue work until Oct. 3 before going dormant through Fall Fest. Work will then resume on Oct. 15 and proceed through the winter.
