The recent cold snap isn’t great for a lot of outdoor activities, but it makes for a great base of ice at the Teresa K. Hilander Community Ice Rink in Sister Bay.
The rink has been a popular spot this winter as people seek safe, outdoor activities. Founded in the late 1990s by a local group of hockey enthusiasts, the rink has been hopping with kids learning to skate, broomballers trying to stay upright and pickup pond hockey games.
Visitors can rent skates, hockey equipment and broomball equipment from the warming house and get snacks to enjoy around the firepit.
Where: Teresa K. Hilander Community Ice Rink, Sister Bay Sports Complex
Hours: The rink is open daily for skating when conditions permit. The warming house is open for skate and equipment rentals Monday – Friday, 4-8 pm; Saturday, 10 am – 8 pm; and Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm.
Information: Visit the rink’s Facebook page for updated conditions, or call 920.854.7014.
