Ski for Free Program Continues at Crossroads

While skiers are yearning for a snowy winter, Crossroads at Big Creek hasn’t seen a lot of useful snow. When there is, the Ski for Free program will resume. Free skiing is offered on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3:30 pm.

Friends of Crossroads lend ski equipment and snowshoes, free of charge, to residents and visitors of Door County. Go to the Crossroads Maintenance Building to be fit for skis and then sent out onto the trails to get in touch with nature. Dress for the weather. When in doubt, check crossroadsatbigcreek.org for current conditions and closures.

Trails at the three preserves are free and open to the public 24/7. For trail maps, current trail conditions and cancellations visit crossroadsatbigcreek.org. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan St. just east of the roundabout in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4 pm daily and during scheduled activities.
