Slezewski Earns Bravery Beads Through Every Step of Leukemia Battle

Southern Door High School student Griffin Slezewski, part of the Class of 2021, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in January of 2019.  

He spent the next six months, mostly in the hospital, undergoing treatment and earned “bravery beads” every step of the way. He received a bead for each blood draw, chemo treatment, injection, infusion, dressing change, test, scan, mile that he walked in the halls of the hospital, and much more. The beads are now strung to tell the story of his journey.
