Snowshoe Walk and Woodpecker Talk at Peninsula State Park

Join the Peninsula State Park naturalist on Jan. 5 at 1 pm for a snowshoe walk on Sentinel Trail. Hikers should meet at Eagle Tower and provide their own snowshoes. The naturalist will provide tree facts and folklore along the way.

If there is not enough snow, plan to hike the mostly level, half-mile route.

Peninsula’s Nature Center will be open Jan. 5, 9 am – 12 pm; guests are invited to feed the chickadees by hand and learn what’s in store for 2013. There will also be a 20-minute talk about woodpeckers at 11 am.

These programs are free and open to the public, but a state park sticker is required.
