Snowshoeing at Whitefish Dunes

The public will have a number of opportunities to learn to snowshoe or to participate in snowshoe hikes each weekend through February and early March at Whitefish Dunes State Park. Snowshoe events will take place on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 at 9 am. A winter hike will take place on Feb. 21 at 1 pm.

There will also be a workshop Feb. 28 where participants can learn to identify different trees, understand how bark grows, create a bark pendent to take home, and discover cool tree facts. Dress for the weather as a portion of the program will be outdoors. Meet at the Nature Center at 1 pm.

All events are free but a state park admission sticker is needed for entrance to the park. Some events could be cancelled due to inclement weather. Call the park to confirm events will be held at 920.823.2400.
