Southern Door Announces Hall of Fame Inductees

Three names will soon be added to the Southern Door Athletic Club’s Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2022 will include Bobby Adamov (1994), Richard “Dick” Johnson (1968) and Patrick Delcore, girls varsity softball, girls varsity basketball and varsity football assistant coach. The trio will be inducted Feb. 18 during the halftime of the boys’ basketball game versus Gibraltar at 7:30 pm.

Adamov was a star football, track and basketball player who was named the Packerland Player of the Year in 1993 and earned five All-Conference awards, All-Area, and All-State recognition. He was a member of three conference-championship teams before going on to play defensive back and linebacker at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1994-98.

Adamov was also a member of the 1993 WIAA state-championship 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams and finished second in the 100-meter dash, helping Southern Door’s team to win the WIAA Division 2 state championship.

Johnson was a standout football, wrestling and track-and-field athlete during the late 1960s. He earned First Team All-Conference awards his junior and senior years. As a wrestler, Johnson was team MVP and Wrestler of the Year, and he qualified for the WIAA sectional tournament. He was a shot put and discus regional champion twice during an era before there were multiple divisions for state competition.

Delcore coached 37 sports seasons at Southern Door High School, 1998-2017. His softball teams earned eight conference titles, two trips to the state tournament and a career record of 264-73. As a basketball coach, Delcore won a conference title and posted a record of 164-82.
