Southern Door Auditorium Announces Broad Line-up

Imuka will dance, drum, and sing on Nov. 2.

The Southern Door Community Auditorium (SDCA) is going for it’s Flight of Success theme and will provide a full series of community events this fall and winter. Terry Lundahl, program director, recently announced the line-up includes international and national companies that encompass a wide range of theater, dance, music and comedy.

Lundahl said, “The upcoming season embraces an eclectic mix of superb artists. I am pleased that the roster features such a broad range of talent. It’s certainly going to be an exciting year for the SDCA.”

The season opens on Nov. 2 with Imuka. This 30-person choir is made up of talented musicians and dancers representing a dozen community groups from East Africa. Imuka brings together rare singing techniques, electrifying choreography, hand drumming with multiple percussions, and traditional dance.

On Nov. 13, Ministry Door County Medical Center presents, free to the community, the Golden Dragon Acrobats. This traveling troupe represents a time-honored tradition that began more than twenty-five centuries ago. They are recognized throughout the U.S and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company. They amaze audiences with award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques.

All shows are general seating. For more information or for tickets, call 920.493.5979 or visit http://www.southerndoorauditorium.org.
