Southern Door FFA Students Successful at State Competition

On April 24, 13 Southern Door FFA members competed in the State FFA Career Development Events hosted by University of Wisconsin – Madison. There were more than 1,200 students competing in 17 different contests. Southern Door’s results were as follows: the Dairy Products team consisting of Carli Babler, Bailey DeGrave, Myria Kolstad and Erin McNulty received a silver rating and finished 29th out of 79 teams; the Dairy Cattle Evaluation team consisting of Jared Baudhuin, Claire Olson, Austin Vandertie and Marti Viste received a bronze ranking with their 33rd place finish of 39 teams; the Livestock Evaluation Team consisting of Lydia Kramer, Alex Ploor, Elliot Seiler and Ashley Wery received a silver ranking with their 12th place finish of 37 teams; Nathan Lenius also competed in the Dairy Handler contest and was given a silver ranking. These members would like to thank Rich Olson for serving as the second chaperone for their trip and for coaching the Dairy Cattle Evaluation Team.
