The Southern Door School District is one step closer to selecting its next administrator after six semi-finalists were interviewed during a special board meeting March 13. The three finalists are Steve Bousley, principal of Southern Door High School; Sheila Briggs, assistant state superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction; and Chris Peterson, superintendent of the Howards Grove School District.
The district hired the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to lead the search process, which drew 22 applicants who were interested in the vacancy created by Patti Vickman’s upcoming retirement on June 30.
On March 23, finalists had a second interview with the board; an interview with a stakeholder group of staff, parents and community members; and a facilities tour. The Board of Education plans to announce the new district administrator about April 1.
