Southern Door Schools Host Fine Arts Festival April 12

The Southern Door Elementary and Middle School presents the 18th annual Fine Arts Festival on April 12, 5-8 pm. This night is an art exhibition, open house and a celebration of the visual and performing arts. The student artwork on display in the main hallways of the Elementary and Middle School is the heart of the celebration.

A new “hands-on” art creation experience for visitors and families will be the creation of personal artwork made from recycled materials in a designated area of the cafeteria. Earlier this year, author Miranda Paul visited the school. One of her books, One Plastic Bag, inspired a creative art competition for all the classes. Students are encouraged to bring some of the ideas they tried earlier in the year and invite their family to create something together.

The Southern Door Library Department Scholastic Book Fair will be open during the festival for families and visitors, and there will be ice cream sundaes available for purchase in the cafeteria. The Fine Arts Festival is open to the school community and public. All are welcome.
