Local student Amanda Puccini will travel to South Africa June 26 – July 10, 2020, for a mission trip through an organization called VESA. She will be one of 200 students and humanitarian-minded travelers selected to participate in a project aimed at engaging students to team their overseas excursions with helping villagers in developing countries to gain crucial education, infrastructure and hygiene.
During the trip, Puccini will teach English to school-aged or crèche children, build sustainable farming units to help local families develop an income, help in crocodile and cheetah sanctuaries, and observe more wildlife and native species in the Isimangaliso Wetland Park.
Puccini is seeking assistance to fund her travels. To contribute to her humanitarian trip, visit gofundme.com, search for Amanda Puccini, and donate to the first option: Africa Unearthed.
