Southern Door to Dedicate Facilities Project Sept. 19

The Southern Door County School District will host a virtual dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of facilities projects. Join the livestream Sept. 19, 9 am, to hear from district leaders and construction partners and to watch a video showcasing the new spaces

In November 2018, residents supported a $6,270,000 referendum to invest in the district facility through constructing a new high school office, creating a secure entrance to better control visitor access, renovating the open-concept elementary and middle school classrooms, renovating and expanding the high school cafeteria and commons, enhancing technical education, adding infrastructure and Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades, replacing the parking lot, improving exterior lighting and resurfacing the playground.

After the ceremony, the district will share a video walk-through of the facilities on its website and Facebook page.

“We appreciate the support of our taxpayers,” Superintendent Patti Vickman said, “and we are excited to provide everyone in our community with this virtual opportunity to see the facility updates and the renovated learning environments.”Visit southerndoor.k12.wi.us/district/board_of_education/board_meeting_files, and click on the Livestream of Meetings icon to watch the livestreamed ceremony.
