Southern Door’s Fine Arts Festival Celebrates Students’ Talents

The Southern Door Elementary and Middle School Fine Arts Festival celebrates the art of students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Students’ art will be displayed exhibition-style in the school’s main hallways, and on April 11, 5-8 pm, families and friends may view the students’ pieces and learn about their artistic visions.

One special festival tradition is the Art Viewer Review, in which visitors write comments to the young artists about how their work “spoke to” or moved the viewers. This positive feedback helps students understand the power that art has to connect with others.

The festival also includes a craft area for creating fish prints because the Celebrate Water Door County initiative has been a large focus for elementary students throughout the year. Guests may take and share pictures with the student-created feather mural, which is all about what lifts you up. Enjoy musical performances by elementary and middle school students throughout the night – and more!
