Space to Breathe

Painting by Mary White.

Plum Bottom Pottery & Gallery invites the community to view the latest collection of paintings from Door County artist Mary White in their newly expanded gallery space. Come see White’s collection of plein air canvases featuring favorite Door County scenes.

White captures the year-round beauty of the county in her work – from the bright forget-me-nots of spring to the cold snow covered fields of winter. Some pieces feature a sculptural nature, with White actually sculpting canvasses before they are painted, creating aggressive textures and vibrant movement.

These works and more live in the new gallery expansion and can be enjoyed all summer in their new home. “The new gallery space has really allowed us to feature the work of our painters in a way we couldn’t do before,” says Chad Luberger, owner and resident porcelain artist. “White’s work can now breathe a bit and gallery patrons have space to step back and really enjoy the collection as a whole.”
