Special Birch Creek Symphony Concert July 4

Birch Creek invites Door County to celebrate Independence Day with a special Symphony concert on July 4. The concert will be the first of Birch Creek’s Symphony Session, taking place one day after students and faculty arrive on campus.

The concert will begin at 4 pm, with the annual pie and ice cream social preceding the music at 2:30 pm, complete with pies from local bakeries.

Nationally-recognized faculty and gifted young students will perform patriotic pieces, including Gould’s “American Salute,” Rodgers’ “Victory at Sea,” and Sousa’s “Hail to the Spirit of Liberty” and “Liberty Bell March.” The performance will be held in Birch Creek’s renovated, century-old concert barn, with pre-show music in the gazebo. Tickets are $29 for adults, $10 for students, and children aged 11 and under are free for the July 4th concert.

Birch Creek’s Symphony Session will also have concerts from July 7-9, and July 13-16. Symphony concerts will feature an orchestra of up to 90 players, with works by masters such as Brahms, Wagner, Vivaldi, and more to be performed. 2016 concert and session dates are posted at birchcreek.org/tickets.
