Special Events Upcoming at Crossroads

The Friends of Crossroads have decked the halls of the Collins Learning Center and the Door County Historical Society has decorated the Historical Village at The Crossroads for the season. A few upcoming events at the Collins Learning Center will help visitors enjoy the festive spirit of Door County and The Crossroads at Big Creek.

Snow permitting, the Friends of Crossroads will loan skis and snowshoes to children and adults who wish to use them on a first-come-first-serve basis on Sunday, Dec. 13 from 1 – 3 pm. This is the Friends gift to the community and a way to get outside and enjoy the environment. If in doubt about snow conditions, call 920.746.5895.

On Monday, Dec. 14, guests are invited to join the Door County Invasive Species Team for a lecture on native plants with Cliff Orsted at 3 pm followed by a holiday social. Free and open to the public.

Whatever the weather, getting outside is important. Everyone is encouraged to join the naturalist for a morning hike on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 10 am. The group will enjoy the holiday colors provided by nature. Free and open to the public, the hike will last about an hour.

Crossroads is a donor-supported learning preserve with programs in science, history and the environment. The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 5 pm daily. For more information call 920.746.5895.
