Spend an “Afternoon with the Artist” at Ephraim’s Blue Dolphin House

Blue Dolphin House and BDH Studio are pleased to have Carl Mengert,
watercolor and mixed media artist, as part of the “Afternoon with the Artist” series on Thursday, August 4 in the Gardens. Mengert
will be conducting an “Interactive Collage Event” from 2 – 4 pm. The public is welcome to participate.

Upon retirement in the mid 1980s, Mengert began studying with area artists Bridget Austin, Lionel
Wathall, and James Range, who encouraged him to devote time to watercolors. After studying with Ratindra Das, he began to broaden his approach to watercolor and develop his own unique contemporary style.

Recently, Mengert has become interested in stepping beyond traditional watercolor and exploring other media, including textural collage using paper manipulation and cutting. Though his collection of work spans a variety of mediums, the one element that is evident throughout is his love of life and joy of creation.

Mengert’s artwork is represented in various public and private collections throughout the country and he has exhibited in several Juried Art Shows in Wisconsin and Door County.

Blue Dolphin House is located north of Ephraim at 10320 N. Water Street (Highway 42). For more information call 920.854.4113 or visit http://www.bluedolphinhouse.com.
