Peninsula State Park’s 9th annual “Spook-tacular Hike” attracted 2,000 visitors and raised $2,500 for the park’s nature education program. Participants of all ages walked along a flickering, lantern-lit trail, passing through happy haunted hollows and meeting not-so-scary characters like owls, bats, vultures, and more. The event, supported by volunteers from Friends of Peninsula State Park, the local community, and Peninsula’s campground hosts, is scheduled annually the Saturday of Columbus Day.
