Spring Classic Ride Registration Open Feb. 1

Registration for Door County’s spring century bicycle ride opens Feb. 1.

Riders can save up to $15 by registering for the Peninsula Century Spring Classic in February. Plus, those who register for both the Spring Classic and the Peninsula Century Fall Challenge will save an extra $10 when they register by March 1.

The Spring Classic, previously known as the Ride for Nature, returns for its 27th year in Baileys Harbor on June 20, 2015. Since the Peninsula Pacers began organizing the event in 2010 the ride has grown from 325 participants to nearly 900.

The ride will once again partner with the Door County Beer Festival and features four route options: 25, 50, 62 and 100-mile routes. All routes start and end at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall Park and will provide riders with a scenic early season ride featuring routes through the middle of the peninsula.

“We’re extremely proud of the growth of the event,” said ride director Brian Fitzgerald. “Seeing the impact that the combination of the ride and beer festival has had on Baileys Harbor, and the way the community has embraced the events, is incredibly rewarding.”

Cyclists receive full course support, with six aid stations, mechanics, plus a post-ride lunch from local chefs and beer from Door County Brewing Co.

The third annual Door County Beer Festival will be held at the finish line, with more than 140 craft beers to taste, plus presentations from brewing experts. Tickets to the festival are sold separately and are available Feb. 1.
