Spring Road Reconstruction in Fish Creek Starts April 30

On April 30, the Door County Highway Department will begin a resurfacing project on Spring Road in Fish Creek from Peninsula Players Road to Wandering Road.

The work includes pulverizing the existing pavement, improving and widening the roadway aggregate base, excavating two segments on the roadway to improve vision, regrading and then resurfacing the roadway with hot mix asphalt pavement, gravel shouldering and pavement marking. 

There will be limited access to private properties during the duration of the project. Spring Road will be closed to all thru traffic during the excavation of the existing roadway to improve the line of sight. A detour route will be established on Peninsula Players Road, County A and County F during the duration of the project. Paving operations will require lane closures and the use of flagmen. Access for emergency vehicles will be provided at all times.

Pulverizing the existing asphalt pavement will begin on April 30. Grading of the gravel base and excavation will begin after the pulverizing work. All work is scheduled to be completed by June 15. Workers will be on the job site between the hours of 6 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
