St. Francis and St. Mary Parish Adds Food Pantry

St. Francis and St. Mary Parish, 9716 Cemetery Road in Brussels, recently added a Little Food Pantry – similar to a Little Free Library – to collect food in front of the church.

The new food-pantry location came about after a conversation on a Brussels community Facebook group. Fr. Edward Looney, pastor of the parish, volunteered his parish and recruited the help of Tim Buhr, who helped to create the pantry, which was installed May 8. Donations came in quickly as news spread on Facebook, and by the end of the day, several people from the community had used the pantry.
